Student loans should be paid off.

Kenya has a long history of lending to students; but in the 1980s, the program was criticized for its poor administration, high costs, and low recovery rates.  The establishment of the Higher Education Loans Board in 1995 ushered in reforms that have broadened the program beyond the public universities to other postsecondary institutions and to some students in Kenya's growing private sector and improved loan recoveries. The use of student loans is an effective tool for increasing participation and equity, although the government must do more to improve the accessibility of secondary education, which is where much of the inequity currently resides.

This is a flexible plan that enables easy access to an education for those who may not have the funds to straight up Join College, pay the expensive fee and still incur the first time expenses that come with joining college. University student loans in Kenya assists with mainstreaming the process.

However, the Kenyan government should consider paying off the loans for the student. They are trained and majority end up jobless therefore repaying the loan becomes a big challenge. The armed forces are not charged to join or train for their courses and I the same way university and college students should be supported to encourage and motivate educational growth in Kenya.
